My Sweet Girl,

We have so much to catch you up on today so let's get right into it.

First — your room. Daddy and mommy have been putting together a list of everything we want to get for you. We even have a shopping app where we've been adding things little by little as we think of them. People around us have been so generous too. Toys, furniture, a bed — people who love you already are donating things to help build your space. You are not just exciting to us. You are exciting to everyone around us. As for the theme of your room, honestly we haven't locked one in just yet. We have some ideas floating around but the truth is, we think it's going to find us naturally as the room comes together piece by piece. And I think that's kind of beautiful. Just like you, we're not going to rush it. It'll be perfect when it's ready.

Now let's talk about Easter! This is a big one because Easter is your mommy's absolute favorite holiday. It was also your great grandma's favorite too. So it runs in the family and I have a feeling it might just become one of yours as well.

Your mommy took Barrett to a church Easter event that was something else entirely. Picture this — a helicopter flew over and dropped Easter eggs filled with candy down from the sky. Yes, you read that right. A helicopter. Barrett had the time of his life. There were bounce houses, a basketball hoop, and these huge inflatable balls that he was jumping over like a little superhero. He even got some cool temporary tattoos. And you know what? You were there too. Just hanging out in mommy's belly, going along for the ride while mommy kept a close eye on your wild big brother running around having the time of his life.

And the Easter fun isn't over yet. The Easter Bunny is coming to the house too! He always brings plenty of eggs and sometimes even toys. One day very soon you'll be right in the middle of all of it, hunting eggs and probably eating way too much candy. I cannot wait for that day.

Now — Barrett's birthday is right around the corner and he is turning FOUR. Four whole years old. I still can't believe it. I've been thinking about getting him a remote controlled monster truck so he can tear up the backyard. You should see the backyard right now — the dogs have dug up so much dirt back there that it is basically a perfect monster truck track already. So really, it works out perfectly.

Here is a question for you though, and I want you to really think about it when you read this someday. What do you think Barrett would have liked for his next birthday? We're going to have to go shopping together so you can pick toys out for your brothers too.

Oh and one more thing — you can absolutely expect to be spoiled on your birthdays too. Mommy and daddy are going to make sure of that. Every single year.

You know, this time of year gets wonderfully busy for our family. Barrett's birthday, your cousin Ledger's birthday, and Easter all happen in the same month. Then just a few weeks later comes Mother's Day — and I'll save that one for its own letter because it deserves it. But just know it's probably my favorite holiday next to your mommy's birthday, because those are the days we make an extra special effort to remind her just how important she is to all of us. Then a few weeks after that is your big brother Collin's birthday, followed by Father's Day. And once Father's Day has passed, it's your birthday shortly after — and then your mommy's birthday too. I think it's pretty cool that you and mommy's birthdays aren't very far apart. She'll always do something sweet for your birthday, and then a month later you can repay the favor and show her just how much you love her. Not that you don't do that already!

You're going to have plenty of reasons to eat cake and treats around here. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
