Daughter,
This morning I was painting while listening to music. I enjoy the focus and peacefulness of it. I had been putting a lot of time and care into the painting. While I was working on it, a thought popped into my head. I realized that paintings, just like notebooks, can get lost someday. Things can be misplaced, damaged, or disappear over time.
And that made me think about these letters.
I would be very sad if the notebook with all the letters I write to you ever got lost. So that’s when I had an idea. I decided to also start a blog for you.
A blog is kind of like an online journal that lives on the internet. The internet is like a giant library of information that people all over the world can visit using computers and phones. On a blog, people write stories, thoughts, or memories so they can be saved and shared for a very long time.
On this blog, I’ll write the same kinds of letters I write in my journal. Sometimes I might even take a picture of the handwritten letters and post them there too, so you can see the original pages just the way I wrote them.
The reason I’m doing this is simple: I want these letters to last. I want them to always have a home somewhere safe. Someday, when you’re older, I hope you can look back and read them. Maybe you’ll see what life was like before you were born, and how excited Mommy and I were to meet you.
More than anything, I hope these letters make you smile.
Love always,
Daddy

This is so sweet. Your daughter is going to love this. I know I would if my daddy made a website just for me,
